Hello,
Watch a classic training session, then a match. On one side, an isolated gesture, repeated in silence, without an opponent, without stakes. On the other side, noise, decisions to make in a split second, a body facing you.
Two worlds. And then we wonder why the beautiful gesture from training doesn't follow through.
The body doesn't learn to succeed in "a gesture," it learns to solve a situation with all the information it contains. If you remove from training the information that matters in a match, the decision, the time pressure, the opponent, the body becomes very good at solving a problem that doesn't exist anywhere on the actual day.
Researchers call this representative design: creating training situations that retain the essentials of what the body will need to perceive and decide in reality.
This doesn't mean putting everything in permanent chaos. It means keeping, in the exercise, the link between perceiving and acting. A repetition that cuts this link polishes a gesture out of context. A situation that keeps it teaches a gesture that holds.
What this changes in your week: for each exercise, ask yourself a simple question. Does the body perceive and decide as it will have to in reality? If not, bring the exercise closer to the game, even a little.
We share this framework because motor learning is the foundation we offer in its entirety. Knowing what information to keep, and why a body can't read it even in a good situation, is where RNP, Neuro-Postural Reprogramming, begins. We open this to you with the introduction to RNP, offered.
The body becomes good at what it experiences, not what it's described.
