Discover Clément Sirieix's unique approach to neurodevelopmental disorders in children and how he rebalances neural connections.
Is the child a miniature adult? To tackle this essential question, we welcome Clément Sirieix today, a physical trainer and neurotherapist at the PM Fitness center in Blainville. For several years, Clément has specialized in neurodevelopmental disorders in children, addressing issues such as ADHD, dyslexia, autism, and Tourette syndrome. His unique approach aims to rebalance neural connections rather than just relying on medication.
Although Clément primarily works with children, his expertise also extends to adults. He emphasizes that an untreated disorder does not resolve spontaneously. Medication, while effective in the short term, often loses its efficacy over the medium and long term, necessitating increased dosages and leading to side effects. His intervention focuses on an external approach to rebalance brain connectivity and hemispheric synchronization.
Clément distinguishes his two professional roles: that of a physical trainer for athletic performance or weight loss, and that of a neurotherapist. Parents often contact him after consulting numerous specialists (neuropsychologists, occupational therapists) without achieving the desired results. This is where he steps in, offering a different approach based on the understanding and stimulation of neural functions.
He explains that just as chronic lower back pain can become a norm that's hard to live with, many behaviors linked to neurodevelopmental disorders are accepted as inevitabilities when they can actually be addressed. Clément has observed extraordinary results in just a few months, especially when parents engage in regular work at home.
He often faces parents' doubts, who have been directed towards medication or specialized aids without other alternatives. He insists that his approach is not groundbreaking but is based on existing scientific studies that are not always highlighted.
To explain neurodevelopmental disorders, Clément uses a simple analogy: our two brain hemispheres work together and communicate, but they have distinct and complementary functions. There is often an imbalance where one part of the brain is underactive while another is overactive.
For example, the right hemisphere, responsible for executive control, emotions, and attention, can be underactive. This can lead to difficulties in controlling emotions and attention, characteristics of ADHD. It's not a matter of the child's will, but an inability related to neuronal imbalance.
Other parts of the brain can also be affected, such as the cerebellum and the brainstem, which play crucial roles in primitive reflexes. Clément cites the example of a client whose Moro reflex was very pronounced, leading to hypersensitivity and social difficulties. After targeted work, she was able to change careers and thrive in a social environment.
Clément Sirieix laments the widespread lack of knowledge about the underlying causes of neurodevelopmental disorders. It is rare to obtain precise explanations about what is truly happening in the brain of a struggling child. Yet, scientific studies explore alternative approaches to medication, but they struggle to gain recognition.
He highlights the many beliefs and resistances from the public, and even from some specialized groups, towards these new perspectives. Having been a struggling child himself, he explains that his "poor" academic performances were not his fault, but the result of brain mechanisms he did not control. His journey led him to want to help others through neurotherapy.
Clément emphasizes the importance of the brainstem and archaic reflexes, often overlooked in traditional approaches. By combining various training and methods, including COB and Carryk, he achieves remarkable results. He insists on the holistic nature of the approach: ignoring part of the system, such as the brainstem, can compromise the effectiveness of the treatment.
