Discover the journey of Alizé Warion, a sports coach specialized in contortion, and her unique approach that combines strength and flexibility.
Hello and welcome to this Eururo setting! Today, we are going to talk about contortion with Alizé. Hi Alizé!
Hi Adrien, how are you?
I'm good, thanks for coming. Can you introduce yourself, please?
My name is Alizé, I have been a sports coach for three years, and I have been active for a year. If we count my experience with a physical trainer, that makes two years. I worked with Benjamin Duortier, whom you probably know, and it’s thanks to him that I heard about you.
I have been doing sports coaching for a year with my clients, and I also guide them in contortion. My approach combines physical preparation, classic contortion methods, and techniques focused on flexibility.
I have always been attracted to contortion. It was a hidden passion for me. When I was younger, I was naturally flexible. I achieved the splits through classic contortion methods, but I also realized that these techniques can cause injuries if they are not accompanied by proper muscle strengthening.
In my contortion sessions, I start with stretching routines, like the splits, and I also include muscle strengthening exercises. However, I notice that many traditional methods do not emphasize strengthening enough, which can lead to injuries.
It is crucial to find a balance between stability, mobility, and flexibility. Recently, I injured myself while trying to achieve too much range, which reminded me of the importance of managing acquired mobility. With neuro methods, I can unlock a range quickly, but I also need to learn to control it.
Benjamin Duortier taught me a lot about neuro and its impact on our psychomotor skills. Because of this, my joints have stabilized, which is essential for contortion. Before, I could reach extreme positions, but I didn't really control my body. Now, I can go further with more strength and confidence.
In my sessions, I always incorporate strength exercises, like squats or deadlifts, to work the muscles related to flexibility. This helps strengthen my new ranges while maintaining the stability of my joints.
Thank you very much for this exchange, Alizé. If listeners want to contact you, where can they find you?
I am based in Nantes, but I frequently travel to Paris. You can find me on Instagram under the name Alizé Warion or on my professional page, Mind Movement.
