Discover the best training techniques with Kevin Arsenault, kinesiologist and author, in this article inspired by the podcast.
In this episode of the "1/4 H Neuro" podcast, we are pleased to welcome Kevin Arsenault, kinesiologist and training expert. Kevin shares his experience, research, and insights from his book on training techniques.
Kevin Arsenault has been a kinesiologist and trainer for over 21 years. Based in Quebec, he has also worked in Montreal, where he manages a diverse clientele at a gym. With an impressive academic background that includes a bachelor's degree in kinesiology, a degree in nutrition, and a master's in electromyography, Kevin has successfully combined theory and practice. He recently published a book that compiles over 230 training techniques.
Kevin's book, titled "The Bible of Training Planning Strategies", is a valuable resource for sports professionals and enthusiasts alike. Published in 2020 after several years of work, this book is the result of a growing demand for clear and accessible documentation on training techniques.
Kevin observed a lack of similar resources, in both French and English, that account for the numerous existing training techniques. His goal was to create a manual that could be used by both beginners and experienced physical trainers.
Kevin addresses the question of training techniques based on the audience. Techniques can be tailored to different experience levels, ranging from beginners to seasoned athletes.
For those just starting their training journey, simple techniques like supersets can be effective. However, after a few months of training, it is crucial to introduce more advanced techniques to avoid performance stagnation.
Kevin also emphasizes the importance of addressing muscle imbalances. Often, individuals neglect certain parts of the body, which can lead to posture and performance issues. Therefore, it is essential to adapt the training accordingly.
Kevin Arsenault is a passionate expert in his field, and his book is an excellent resource for those looking to deepen their understanding of training. To follow his work, you can find him on Instagram under the handle @KevinArsenault_ or on Facebook. Be sure to grab a copy of his book at your local bookstore.
