Discover Strongfit, the innovative training by Julien Pineau, teaching Neuro Postural Reprogramming without dogmas. An essential tool for sports coaches!
Published on May 26, 2025
There are many methods, but few training programs offer their learning through a system rather than a pre-designed method.
Strongfit, invented by Julien Pineau, whom I consider one of my mentors, is one of these training programs.
We established Labo RNP so that the tools communicate with any professional supporting athletes, and through this, we do not adhere to a rigid methodology. The idea is to understand the principles of Neuro Postural Reprogramming, to model them regardless of your approach, and Strongfit is one of the tools we recommend and use.
Julien Pineau has long coached some of the best CrossFit athletes in the world. He was a coach at Invictus, famous in the CrossFit world.
He has also developed protocols within his method for anxious individuals and those on the autism spectrum. His work is studied and in collaboration with UCLA.
Strongfit aims to develop athletic skills and implements strategies around nutrition, all through neuroscience.
I had previously discussed various topics covered in Strongfit on the Fightforme blog: https://www.fightforme57.com/single-post/strongfit
I learned a lot about this method, particularly thanks to JM from Atelier Fit and Jack from Jacks Team, both of whom have been involved in Julien Pineau's mentorship for several years and have shared podcasts with him.
I started listening to his podcasts and applying some of the principles stated. I then went to train with Julien before Covid and subsequently followed all his training programs and all Strongfit training schedules, eventually integrating the mentorship.
- Searching for body awareness in space (proprioception)
- Searching for and stimulating interoception. Interoception is the ability to assess one’s physiological activity (heart rate). A significant part of interoception passes through the insular lobe in the brain. Working on the insular lobe is one of our priorities at Labo RNP at the beginning of the follow-up due to all the actions associated with it and the abilities it allows to develop.
To do this, we use tools dear to Strongfit: sandbags.
Carrying a sandbag is very different from lifting a barbell or a kettlebell.
To develop the two points mentioned, we like to use openers.
The openers primarily work on the Internal Torque chain.
We place these openers at the beginning of training, during warm-up.
Generally, we use music with a recurring word. We stay tense during the exercise, and every time the word is used, we perform a repetition and return to contraction.
A piece of music I like to use: ‘Laffy Taffy’ by D4L
You can find one example of an opener in the video below
And at Strongfit, are there other interesting things?
Strongfit is a very comprehensive system. There are numerous ways to work around anxiety, and even autism.
We will offer more examples later.
